True Spiritual Community

February 24, 2016

“The community of God’s people is to be that rock in stormy seas, an island of peace in a world of pain. It is to be the community of the broken: humble people who commune with God and depend on Him for everything good; repentant people who love holiness more than sin; passionate people who honor and search for and embrace their deeper desires because they know their desire is for God.”

Dr. Larry Crabb, Becoming a True Spiritual Community, Page 178

Questions for Reflection:
• When you think of the Church, what comes to mind?
• As Dr. Crabb describes the community of believers in terms that go beyond programs, listening to preaching or worship, what parts do you resonate with?
• Take some time both to grieve what may be lacking in your own experience of church and to ask the Holy Spirit to give opportunities and wisdom for engaging those around you in ways that offer them a deeper community.
