Feeling Good Is Not The Goal

November 25, 2015

“Feeling good is not the goal. When we feel bad, we have the opportunity to do battle against the enemy within that keeps us from entering the Presence of God with no greater passion than to glorify Him.”

Dr. Larry Crabb, Shattered Dreams, Page 156

Questions for Reflection:
• How do you respond to dark seasons in your walk with God?
• Do you tend to seek Him in hopes that doing so will ease your struggle?
• Do you withdraw from Him until you feel more like praising Him?
• Are you able both to share honestly with Him how you feel and yet not make your feelings the point of coming to Him?
• Consider the opportunity provided by dark times to come before God with no other agenda than to give Him pleasure.
• Take some time today, whatever your circumstances or state of heart, and thank God that Jesus has made a way for you to approach Him to worship.
