Once Alienated, Now Beloved

October 14, 2015

“Consider the relationship with Me that you now possess: once alienated, now beloved; once enemies, now friends; once separated, now reconciled; once under wrath, now forgiven; once dead in selfishness, now alive in selflessness. Fully seen and fully wanted by an inflexibly holy God, who in Christ has given you the gift of absolute, secure righteousness.

That’s what you have now.
Believe it. Trust it. Enjoy it.”

Dr. Larry Crabb, God’s Love Letters to You, Page 95

Questions for Reflection:
• As you think of the contrasts between what was true of you and what is now true, thanks to the cross, which changes do you find easiest to believe and rest in?
• Which new gifts of relationship do you still find difficult to trust and enjoy?
• Spend some time today thanking God for the new intimacy you’ve received and ask Him to grow your heart in the areas where you struggle to trust Him.
